The Salvation Army of Augusta could not function without the help of our volunteers!  Our ongoing volunteer needs are listed below.  Let us know what interests you and we'll take it from there!

Thrift Store - Volunteer at one of the local Salvation Army Thrift Stores, help take donations, process/sort/organize items, stock/shelve items, etc. Great group project!  Feel free to visit the Salvation Army Thrift Store closest to you and let any of the staff know that you are interested in helping.
GED Class Instructor - Conduct GED classes for interested shelter residents. We will provide materials and class space. Days and times are flexible.
Auto Auction - Perfect practice for mechanics in training! Prior to one of the auctions, check fluid levels, air pressure, spark plugs, etc. to help categorize condition of auction vehicles.
Tutor - Provide homework help and teach study skills to children in shelter.
Soup Kitchengroups only - Help in the soup kitchen, to prepare, serve and clean-up after the evening meal. Need volunteers Monday thru Saturday evenings, 4pm-6pm.
Administrative Assistant - Provide administrative support to office staff; help with donor acknowledgements, mailings, filing, basic computer duties, etc.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, fill out our volunteer application online. If you would like more information on volunteering click here.  Our Volunteer Coordinator will be glad to answer any questions you may have!
